Major Cattle Smuggling Racket Busted in Kishangarh; 23 Bovines Rescued Following High-Speed Chase
In a major late-night operation in Kishangarh, Ajmer, authorities and cow protection units busted a cattle smuggling racket, rescuing 17 bovines from a truck where they were being transported in brutal conditions. Despite the tragic loss of six animals, the intervention highlights the ongoing battle against illegal livestock trafficking in Rajasthan as police launch a manhunt for the escaped suspects.
When officials and members of the protection group reached the abandoned vehicle, they discovered a grim scene of animal cruelty. The cattle had been packed into the container with such extreme density that six of the animals had already succumbed to suffocation or physical trauma. The remaining 17 bovines were found in a distressed state but were successfully rescued. Following the discovery, the Bandarsindri Police arrived at the scene to seize the vehicle and secure the area. The rescued cattle were immediately transported to the Bandarsindri Gaushala for urgent veterinary care and rehabilitation.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the consignment originated from the Harmara village area, indicating a localized network of illegal procurement. Members of the rescue team, including Lokesh Solanki, Raju Kayad, Raju Farkiya, Nandu Banna, and Vishnu Pawar, played a pivotal role in the interception, which has been hailed as a major blow to smuggling rings operating within the district. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Rajasthan Bovine Animal (Prohibition of Slaughter and Regulation of Temporary Migration or Export) Act and are currently conducting raids to apprehend the driver and the cleaner of the truck.
This incident underscores the persistent challenge of organized cattle smuggling in the region and the critical role of vigilantism and police coordination in curbing such activities. As the investigation widens to identify the masterminds behind the shipment, the local administration has reiterated its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy regarding animal cruelty and illegal trade. The successful rescue serves as a grim reminder of the logistical routes used by traffickers and the ongoing need for heightened surveillance along the state's major highways to protect livestock and uphold the law.
